Markup & Margin Calculator

Price products correctly by converting cost, markup, and profit margin.

How to use

Margin is profit ÷ price. Markup is profit ÷ cost. They are not the same percentage.

Formula

Price = Cost / (1 − margin). Markup% = (Price − Cost) / Cost × 100.

Frequently asked questions

Is 30% margin the same as 30% markup?

No. 30% margin on a $40 cost implies a higher selling price than 30% markup.
